Pneumatic quick couplers
The most popular pneumatic nipple is type 26 used in almost every field of industry. It was created for the needs of quick and easy connection of cables in the developing world economy. The connector is valued wherever simplicity of connections and safety are important.
A wide range of possibilities allows for safe connection of almost any device with cables and tools, including the use of one hand. Pneumatic quick couplers are an all-round favorite that has become synonymous with standards. A huge number of manufacturers of their devices retrofit them with such quick couplers.
Thanks to its simplicity of operation and low price, the pneumatic quick coupler is no longer an element of luxury and has become an element of improving the comfort of work. The possibility of using such couplings on almost every technical conduit, low or high pressure, requires the use of screw clamps or crimps in the so-called crimper.
Each solution makes such a connection tight and acceptable. Of course, when we strictly follow the manufacturer's recommendations on the maximum allowable pressure. Components like any pressure product must be safe.
Brass quick couplers
The material from which such a product is made, we are talking only about the most popular version, is made of brass. It is a cheap material, but therefore it is not resistant to any kind of damage, impacts, deformation, etc. Especially in the shipbuilding industry, where the conditions are extremely difficult to obtain such damage very easily.
This applies to both the pneumatic quick coupler sockets and the pneumatic plug itself. Plugs made of e.g. hardened steel will allow for a long working time and, in particular, to eliminate leaks wherever there are vibrations, impacts, e.g. all tools such as hammers, scrapers, impact wrenches.
It is important to ask the seller and rely on his knowledge or experience. If we have a lot of disconnections in our work, the plug and O-ring on the mushroom inside the pneumatic quick-coupler will develop, and the leakage and escaping air will not only increase labor costs, but also contribute to discomfort at work.
Almost every manufacturer "made sure" that such a connector was irreparable in terms of the possibility of selecting O-rings, springs, etc. elements. It is for your own safety and the safety of e.g. a car left in the hands of a mechanic that depends on whether we will be satisfied with the service. That is why we advise against any modification, alteration or repair of pneumatic quick couplings.
Although they can differ in appearance, their common feature on the European market makes them compatible.
Pneumatic quick couplers principle of operation
The principle of operation is quite simple, it is based on releasing the catch by pulling the outer flange of the fitting and disconnecting it automatically.
A pneumatic fitting as a connecting element can be classified as:
- pneumatic quick couplers with one-sided air cut-off, the so-called female socket.
- pneumatic connector with air cut-off on both sides, female socket - tip, so-called male plug
- Pneumatic quick couplings with free passage without shut-off
The executions are additionally divided into those for mounting under the thread and, (GW or GZ) and those directly under the conduit (internal fi). This also applies to male plug connectors. Another group of pneumatic connectors are safe connectors without the so-called pressure jump.
Recommended in car dealerships and paint shops. Pneumatic couplings with a different DN dimension, such as DN 2.7 micro, DN 10, DN 16 and those for casting molds are a less common group, but still present on the market.
Due to the use of a medium such as compressed air and the presence of moisture in it, no corrosive elements, mainly steel, are used during expansion and cooling. For this reason, the most commonly used material by manufacturers is brass, both pure and electro-treated.
In industries where aggressive conditions or sanitary requirements require it, pneumatic fittings made of stainless steel material are used. Having all nipples, reductions, couplings, sockets, etc. at hand, we are able to offer any type of pneumatic connection for assembly or expansion, e.g. of compressed air installations.

TYPE 21 DN 5 pneumatic couplings as a little brother of the 26 pneumatic connector
They are characterized by smaller dimensions and are used mainly where we are limited by the space and size of a tool. Successfully used in dentistry (dental units and prosthetics) and modeling (airbrushes).
Although smaller, they can be more expensive, they are still valued for their durability and appear as elements of compact pneumatic systems, hose parts, machines and devices. All fixing and reinforcement rules as in the case of version 26 are identical.
The connection system of pneumatic connectors 21 has been the most popular for many decades all over the world, which allows for free selection of all pneumatic connectors.
